Russian Prime Minister tests positive for Covid-19

Moscow : Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, aged 54, has been tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday, April 30. He informed the test results to President Vladimir Putin through the Video Call.

Mishustin has become the first most high-profile public figure in Russia, to catch Covid-19, amidst massive Covid outbreak in Russia infecting more than 1,06,000 people and 1073 deaths. President Putin has charged First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov temporarily with Mishustin’s duties, on his recommendation.

Mishustin has said that he is following self-isolation rules for the safety of his colleagues. Mishustin was announced as the Prime Minister in January 2020, by President Vladimir Putin.
